We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of Don's quarter and Father's Day at a great little campground about 40 minutes away. The kids had a blast and were so entertained by rocks and sticks and lizards that we got to genuinely relax. It was fantastic! I had no idea that camping with three little kids could be so restful. - Tiffany
It was a very restful weekend for us. We planned our activities around things that Lydia and Caleb liked to do - go for a short hike to a waterfall, play with rocks and water guns in the stream, etc. Maggie didn't know that camping was unusual; she just liked when daddy was able to carry her around in the back carrier. Jim and Kathi went too and Gina was there part of the time, so there were lots of people who wanted to hold Maggie on their lap anyway - she was good at helping you stay warm on the cool Santa Rosa nights! I don't know what our secrets are; it actually didn't feel that much different from just living at home!
Camping with small children, restful? Please tell me any and all of your secrets! :)
