Country Critters

We've been making friends with God's critters lately. Here is a little white dove that has decided to befriend us. She first showed up on the kids' playground one day and didn't want to leave. We fed her out of our hands and she even let me touch her a little. Now mostly she coos at us whenever we walk by. Caleb named her Nina.

We've also been befriending lots of little frogs lately. The kids have a bug catcher that they keep them in. We have a rule that you have to let them out at night, but you can look for another one the next day. The kids like to put a little dirt, water, and lots of flowers in with them and then laugh as the frogs climb the walls and hang from the ceiling of the catcher. They carry the bug catcher on a string around their neck, and amazingly we've managed not to kill any yet. So far we have had about one a day, except for the day that Lydia found two in the house! One was in the hall and the other in the bathroom. They're only about an inch long and they are super cute, but I do wish they would stay outside.
